“The FDA did not conduct a formal, scientific evaluation of the FDA’s warning regarding the use of Viagra and did not consider whether the drug should be classified as a health-related drug under the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) classification of prescription drugs,” the FDA said.
The FDA’s decision comes just a few months after Pfizer agreed to pay $2.5 billion to settle allegations it marketed the drug for the benefit of women suffering from sexual dysfunction.
